Day 1     |       Montenegro’s most beautiful valley     |     91 km   |   2 hrs   |    100% asphalt

You could reach Montenegro’s best-known mountain range, Durmitor, within 3 hours from Podgorica airport. But why not spend 3 days getting there? We will guide you via lesser frequented but quite stunning Lipovo valley, the Sinjajevina highlands and the majestic Tara canyon. Before reaching Durmitor you have become best friends with your Lada. The first night is booked on the property of a traditional little farm where you will be welcomed warmly.

Day 2  |  The Sinjajevina highlands    |   43 km   |   4 hrs   |    2% asphalt

Leaving the farm, the asphalt soon ends and you will soon cross the wildest sections of this week’s adventure. Make sure you bring sufficient supplies. The only supplies that can be purchased en route is homemade cheese and rakija. Along the ride you will have the chance to climb the summit of Jablanov vrh, a 3hr return hike. In the evening, you will pitch at a forest lodge, your Durmitor experience nearing as you drift off to sleep.

Day 3  |    Tara Canyon & the Black Lake   |   66 km   |   2 hrs   |    90% asphalt

Descend into the Tara canyon and enjoy the splendour of Europe’s deepest river canyon. Once you reach the Black Lake, you are in the heart of Durmitor and from the lake we have 2 optional hikes prepared. Make sure to reach your bivouac before it gets dark since this one is quite remote, and yet within a short ride of all the Durmitor highlights. For those who fancy and epic wild water adventure, a small detour will enable you to include canyoning at the Nevidio river. The gorge is very narrow and includes challenging jumps & slides - thrilling, but not for the faint-hearted!

Day 4  |     Durmitor & Piva   |    106 km   |   3 hrs   |    80% asphalt

Take an early morning stroll to the viewpoint above the Tara canyon for a romantic sunrise. Via the northern side of Durmitor national park you continue driving towards the Piva Lake. The descend through tunnels that rather look like caves is spectacular. Again, several hiking options are provided. Also a 3 hour rafting on river Tara can be included in todays stage, since you pass the starting point of the rafting. The lovely little campsite at the lake is the first place where we will pitch for 2 nights.

Day 5  |     Day of rest   | -

A day of rest at the Piva Lake will enable you to quietly enjoy the tremendous beauty of this region. Rent a kayak and explore the lake or just have a swim & simply relax at the towns beach. Would you prefer to hit the trails? Remote Stabansko Lake is a perfect base to make a daytrip into the Piva Mountains. Those looking for more adrenaline, can book the additional Tara rafting, a stunning adventure in the deepest sections of the gorge.

Day 6    |    The Bay of Kotor   |   169 km   |   4 hrs   |    90% asphalt

You will spend the last three days of your trip in coastal Montenegro. By lunchtime you should reach the shores of the Adriatic in the bay of Kotor. Forests, rivers and mountains make way for Mediterranean vibes. Instead of sheep & cheese there will be fresh fish on your menu tonight. The night is spent on a small campsite with a beach nearby and our favourite restaurant on the Montenegrin littoral is located within walking distance. You will have plenty of time to explore the ancient towns of Perast and Kotor, or to hike to an ancient fortress with tremendous views on the bay.

Day 7  |   Over the Lovcen Highlands      |  72 km   |   3 hrs   |    90% asphalt

On the final day you ascend over the old Austrian road into the Lovcen highlands. Enter in a world of ancient villages nestled between barren limestone rocks. It is here where the tribes of Old Montenegro resisted centuries of foreign invasions and established their landlocked microstate back in the 15th century. Hike to the summit of Babina Glava for a dramatic view back down to the bay of Kotor or explore the shores of the river Crnojevica. For those who fancy more water, head straight for the camp and spend the day at Skadar Lake, where we offer an optional private boat ride with return hike (and bathing in the waterfall).

Day 8  |      The end   | 20 km   |   0,5 hrs   |    100% asphalt

After breakfast on the terrace overlooking the valley, the trip ends with a 30 min ride back to Podgorica, where the vehicle is to be delivered before 11:00 p.m.
